I won! My very first solo case!
Whooo!
Now, thanks to my amazing work a young Somali can stay in the U.S.
Again with the whoooooooo!
This case was a true clusterfuck of catastrophes by the time it landed on my desk back in the spring, but I (any my beleaguered client) persevered. A copy of the decision is being sent to me for review – but apparently the Board’s decision was based entirely on the exhaustive research I attached (as opposed to the previous judge’s racist ramblings). It was several hundred meticulously organized, summarized and marked-up pages. A true masterpiece.
Wewonwewonwewonwewon. Here’s to my client, for literally entrusting me with the lives of an entire family despite the disgraceful treatment of his previous 3 attorneys (The first sent the files to the wrong bloody court, the second was disbarred and the third left the country without telling any of his clients. Did I mention this case file was a clusterfuck?).
WE WON!
To give you an indication of how this success was pulled out of repeated failure, allow me to share the stylistic progression of the music I was listening to while working on this beast. This music helped me retain whatever small hold I still have on my sanity throughout the case……
